The Road to Hollywood returned home for a quick stop at the fifth annual Miss Hollywood USA and Teen USA Pageants. For the fourth year a large and enthusiastic audience in The Grand Ballroom at The Hollywood Beach Marriott greeted the ten Teen USA delegates and five USA delegates. The audience was also a who’s who of Broward County as several dignitaries, judges and politicians were in attendance as The Hollywood Junior Chamber made this a special evening.

The show began with Pageant Director Deb Gronvold and Co-Pageant Director David Adelson greeting the audience and dignitaries. Then it was time to present our evening’s hostess, Miss Hollywood Teen USA 2007 Krizia Toledo and Miss Hollywood Teen USA 2008 Adriana Pedrique. Up next we met the delegates in their “Pretty in Pink” opening number outfits.

After an afternoon interview session, the remainder of the competition took place on stage with the traditional swimsuit and evening gown segments. Then after an intermission it was time to announce the best of show awards. Each of these awards qualifies a delegate for state.

Then Ms. Toledo and Miss Pedrique brought the delegates back onstage for the show finale. Up first was the announcement of the Hollywood Teen USA 2009 results:

Congratulations and job well done goes to our friends at The Hollywood Jaycees for presenting a pageant that is superior to many states. The hard working staff of volunteers led by Mrs. Gronvold and Mr. Adelson under the direction of Jaycees president Tai Vaz it was a great evening of pageantry. Also congratulations to Ms. Sax and Miss Guillermo as they are now the hometown titleholders at state!
